For Dora, the language of fashion began in childhood, in Romania, by her grandmother’s vintage sewing machine. She taught herself to sew by secretly experimenting with fabric, transforming her mother’s clothes into elaborate creations for her dolls and borrowing her grandmother’s machine whenever she could.

Her grandmother not only sparked her passion for sewing, but also shared her strong love for lace — an enduring influence that can be felt throughout Dora’s work. After her grandmother passed away in 2025, Dora dedicated her latest collection - HERITAGE - to her, turning the collection into a deeply personal tribute to the woman who first introduced her to the craft and unknowingly planted the seed for Dora Sasu Bridal. 

At 21, Dora moved to the United States on her own, carrying little more than a dream of building a fashion brand and a strong faith that it would become reality. In 2018, that dream took shape in a small studio in Miami. What began as an intimate, one-woman atelier evolved into an international bridal label, with collections released annually and carried by retailers around the world.

Handmade in Romania and finished in the USA, the gowns are defined by intricate lace, exceptional fit, and modern silhouettes. Rooted in her European upbringing, Dora’s aesthetic is an effortless dialogue between elegance and sensuality — what she has often been told is the perfect balance of “classy and sexy.”

Through her designs, Dora celebrates the many dimensions of femininity — grace and beauty, but also courage, strength, and confidence. Every gown is ultimately an expression of that philosophy: that a woman should never have to choose between being sophisticated and sensual, delicate and powerful, timeless and daring.
